Sig p365 NEW slid lock is stiff AF. So my wife got herself a P365 today and she can not operate the slide lock it is a bit easier if she pulls the slide back while doing it but still hard. The only way I can do it is by depressing the slide release button and pushing the slide to the rear or by removing the empty magazine and then depress the slide release button. This is not the case on my P320 X-Compact. I am able to release a locked slide with an empty magazine installed by simply depressing the slide release button.Nov 2, 2019 · P365 mags aren’t really stiff because Sig thinks you should build strong thumbs. Like everything else in gun design, there are tradeoffs. In a gun as small as the P365, the slide mass is fairly low, so it wants to cycle faster than a larger gun. Problem is, the slide could cycle faster than the magazine can push a fresh round to the top. Clean out the factory oils. Lube really well and take it to the range. Slide release tends to be harder to operate on empty mags as well. Mine was stiff, cleaned it and racked a bunch of times and that helped. I fired 100 shots last weekend and it is easy enough to release now.

Just purchased P365. The slide release is so difficult to hard to manipulate with just my thumb. Stuff! Is this normal on a new P365? I’m told by Sig it is normal and will eventually loosen up. No matter how hard I push the slide release button down while pulling the slide to the rear it would not release with empty magazine inserted. Then after about 300 rounds it tried again and it worked. I think yours just needs to break in.
